All the Dangerous Things by Stacey Willingham

Isabelle Drake continues to search for her missing son, Mason Drake. She’s been running on no sleep since his disappearance. A year ago, her son was taken from their home and his whereabouts are still unknown. Her husband, Benjamin Drake, could not handle her obsession with finding their son so he moved out. To keep Mason’s case “alive”, Isabelle talks at true crime conferences, hoping for someone who knows something to reach out. On the plane home from the conference, Isabelle ends up sitting next to Waylon Spencer, a true crime podcaster, who’s interested in telling her story to his audience. Waylon tells Isabelle that he’s solved cases before and believes he can find out what happened to her son.

I really enjoyed this book. I am still reeling from the ending. I cried, I gasped (scared my husband a few times) and with that, I am adding Stacey Willingham to my go-to thriller authors.

Review on Fable

I downloaded this book back in December and I kept putting it off on reading it. Library holds were ready, new fantasies were released. So when I finally got to reading this book, I was blown away! I couldn’t put it down especially with a new mystery lurking after each page. This psychological thriller had me on the edge of my seat. I may have found another thriller author to look out for.

The truth is, people love violence—from a distance, that it. Anyone who disagrees is either in denial or hiding something.

In All The Dangerous Things, the reader is trying to make sense if the main character is of sound mind or if she’s an unreliable narrator. Sleep is a big theme in this book. She’s not sleeping very well after her son goes missing a year ago. We’re trying to distinguish what is real and what could be a hallucination. Childhood trauma also plays a big part in affecting Isabelle’s mindset. And with her lack of sleep, it only get much worse. And when the plot twist; chef’s kiss! It’s also currently available on Kindle Unlimited.
